Welcome to the Breakdown Besties podcast guys. We’re Akshay and Ananya. And together we have 14 years of screenwriting experience writing shows like Mismatched, Inside Edge, Wedding.con, Rana Naidu, Ishk in the Air, Grahan, amongst others which have gotten stuck in development hell.

But before any of that, we were chartered accountants who then turned into screenwriters. But very early on, we got fired from our very first writing gigs.

And then what happened was that Ananya sent Akshay a tweet where they were looking for writers for a young adult show. And that's how he got placed on Mismatched.

And Ananya found herself in the writer's room of a show as an intern. But the quality of her work was appreciated and was handed a couple of writing credits on season 3 of Inside Edge.

Over the years, Akshay has worked in various formats of storytelling. Fiction, non-fiction documentary, reality TV. People call jis filmography confused, but hey, we call it versatile.

But versatility doesn't just come from writing. It comes from living those experiences. That's why Ananya has done a lot more than just screenwriting. She’s worked on a blueberry farm, sailed, ived, taught English to little Spanish kids.

And all these experiences... while they might not make sense to a lot of other people, it makes sense to us. Because it makes our writing richer.
