Mayflower 400 Year Anniversary - Mudlarking Special

This year is the 400 year anniversary of the Mayflower ship’s famous voyage to America. The journey began in London in July 1620. After stops in Southampton, Plymouth and other coastal towns, the Pilgrims sailed across the Atlantic and landed in the New World in November 1620. Now, over 28 million Americans can trace their roots to the men and women who sailed on the Mayflower.

To commemorate the 400 year anniversary of this epic voyage, I have created this video in which I take you on a journey to some of my favourite historical sites around London. We go back in time to discover the events which started permanent British colonies in America in the early 17th century. The momentous events which started in London 400 years ago established colonies that would grow into the United States of America.
