Normal LED vs IR LED vs IR Photodiode: Don't Make This Mistake

In this video, we will look at three electronic components that look almost identical from the outside but work completely differently: Normal Clear LED, IR LED (Infrared Transmitter), and IR Photodiode (Receiver).

Many beginners make mistakes by swapping these components in their Arduino or DIY electronics projects. I will show you how to identify them easily, how to test an IR LED using your phone camera, and demonstrate a practical, zero-cost object detection circuit using these components together.

Components Used:
- Normal Diffused LED
- 5mm Clear IR LED (Transmitter)
- 5mm IR Photodiode (Receiver)

a practical object detector circuit diagram is included in this video.
