Part 1: Identify the end goal
-Figure out the beginning
-Who is my course for?
-What are they currently struggling with?
-Figure out the ending
-What end result do I want to create for my student?
-Don't overdo it! (don't try to teach everything you know)

-How much material can you realistically learn?
-Can your main topic be broken down into subtopics?
-Get more specific - It's better for your student to have success with a relatively small goal than fail trying to learn everything you know

Part 2: Bridge the gap
-What major milestones will your student need to achieve to get from where they are now to the result you want to create?
-Write these down in the module section of the course template
-Break the modules down into individual lessons
-Find the right granularity
-Not so much info that it's overwhelming
-Enough info to produce a tangible result
Part 3: Choose the best mediums
-Ask: Is this medium the best way for my student to achieve the result I promise?
-Video
-Pros: Most engaging, multi-sensory experience, creates the strongest connection between instructor and student
-Cons: Time consuming to create, expensive equipment
-Audio
-Pros: Easiest to consume, students can listen while doing other tasks
-Cons: Easy to get distracted, somewhat expensive equipment
-PDF
-Pros: Easier and less expensive to produce, easier to reference, great for walking students through the material, graphic rich
-Cons: Not as engaging
-Text
-Pros: Easiest to produce, doesn't require additional tools or skills
-Cons: Least engaging, writing well takes practice
