LATERAL DOUBLE PENDULUM to SPLIT SQUAT
#shorts - It's time to get weird! No, like seriously this one needs a LOT of prep. Don't rush into this exercise just because it looks fun. This functional training exercise allows you to get used to the idea and feeling of moving in the coronal plane. First you need the foundation to progress to this dynamic exercise with more complex footwork and even with multiple dumbbell or kettlebell pendulums occurring simultaneously. Start slow and get used to the motor control it takes to swing a weight far away from the body. Focus on core strength and intraabdominal pressure to use the core pressure system as a fulcrum upon which you can sling your myofascial chains. This requires you to be fully coordinated and strong in your full body, and transmit forces along the anatomy trains in the body. Take your time and start nice and easy. This can be a gateway to some really fun styles of functional training exercise.
