When looking to install wet pour surfaces, there are a few vital steps you must take. This is to ensure you get a smooth, continuous surface that is suitable for children to play. We have many years experience installing soft fall safety surfaces in the UK. Soft Surfaces have been creating vibrant play areas since 1997.

A variety of colours and graphic designs can be installed within the wetpour surfacing to create a bespoke play area surface which is unique to the particular school, nursery or public recreational area.

We aim to keep the costs of the installation as low as possible. However since we only make use of premium materials there may be cheaper contractors out there, although they might not be able to offer the same quality installations as we can offer.

You’ll need to consider a number of factors during the wetpour construction planning. Most sports and play surfaces require a well draining sub base and it is therefore key to determine how and what your specific site requirements are. Wet pour safety surfacing is a porous system and we need to lay it onto a free draining sub base.

The surfacing of the wetpour construction consists of a two tier system. This begins with an SBR rubber base course which provides the impact absorption and can come in a range of depths. The depth of rubber which is installed will depend on the Critical Fall Height requirements of any equipment in the playground.

The wearing course layer comes in either black or colour EPDM rubber crumb. We’ll mix this together with a polyurethane binder and screed it onto the playground surface.
