Composition in Woodland Photography
Composition in photography has always been the most important part of the puzzle when I'm trying to create great photographs and I talk about it a lot when teaching. I've always loved the challenge of trying to make sense of complex woodland environments, appreciating the nuances and paying close attention to detail. I'm not saying I always get it right, but as with photographs in general, good composition can also be subjective. There's no rules, I'm not always looking for anything in particular, I just do whatever makes sense to me at the time. Sometimes the results stand the test of time and sometimes they don't - it's all part of continuous learning :)
This isn't a deep-dive tutorial in composition, just some off-the-cuff thoughts that came to mind while doing my usual relaxed local woodland womble with Meg.
