Rubber-Powered Model Airplane - The 31" Martinsyde S.1 - Trim Flights #3

This film is a series of flights from the third trim session for the rubber-powered free-flight model of the 1914 Martinsyde S.1. The 31" model was designed & built by Tom Hallman. Filmed at Barron Field in Wawayanda, NY, July 6, 2020. Launch photos by Peter Kaiteris. The day was hot and humid, which led to movement or warps in the wing structure, causing each flight to be more of a challenge. Still, there were a few good flights, and the bird shows promise as she gets closer to full torque. Here are some photos of the simple, adjustable thrust plate used on the Seafire and Martinsyde.
