There’s something about places like this… you can drive past them a hundred times and never really clock what’s there.

The Hartshead Inn sits just off the road, tucked away in a bit of a dip, and if you’re not looking for it you’ll miss it completely. But once you’re in… it’s a different story.

From the beer garden you’ve got Hartshead Pike right there, and then beyond that the view opens up across Manchester and Salford. It’s one of those spots where you end up staying longer than you planned, just because of where you’re sat.

It’s not trying too hard either. Proper pub feel, decent food if that’s your thing, and it’s even had a nod from TripAdvisor, which you don’t always expect from somewhere that feels this under the radar.

This is the first one of the year… and it sets the tone nicely.
