How to sharpen a chisel on sandpaper to hair whittling sharp.

Every time I've needed to sharpen my chisels I've never had my whetstones near. You can improvise, and get razor sharp chisels without the expensive stones. Every carpenter carries sand paper and the only thing you would need to add to your kit is buffing compound. Everything else can be improvised in the field.
Keeping your woodworking chisels sharp is much easier then sharpening them from scratch. Maintaining chisel sharpness can be done on a simple wooden strop. Don't underestimate the power of stropping compound😀
