The Wandering Earth's Wu Jing, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Skyler Samuels, and Sienna Guillory have joined the cast of Meg 2: The Trench. Wu is one of the highest-paid actors in China and a massive superstar in the country. While he starred with Western actors such as Scott Adkins and Frank Grillo in his directorial efforts Wolf Warrior and Wolf Warrior 2, respectively, Meg 2: The Trench will mark Wu's first major role in a Hollywood picture.

Meg 2: The Trench could be a massive commercial hit in China due to Wu's star power. Earlier this year, The Wandering Earth 2 broke massive commercial records in the country and is now the tenth highest-grossing Chinese film of all time and the sixth highest-grossing movie of 2023 so far. Audiences will be able to see him and Statham battle bigger megalodons and other enormous sea monsters when Meg 2: The Trench releases in theaters next week.
