Sheffield Man of Steel 2014

My go at the 10K Sheffield Man of Steel at Graves Park on a very warm and sunny 20th July. Its a decent challenge I think and appears to attract some very good calibre entrants, men and women. I completed 2 circuits in 1:11 which I was happy with on the day and which put me in the top half of the pack although I could have shaved off a minute or two by better technique. One problem with taking the GoPro chest harness is that cargo nets inevitably snag on your back and so you have to adjust your line as you go under which slows you down somewhat - maybe I'll try gaffer taping it up next time. One small complaint the whole day was the absence of an ice cream van and other refreshments as these would have gone down a treat in the sun, in fact I might have had two . .
