The genesis for this "journey" grew out of my acquaintance with a local Eugene artist from my days as an organic farmer selling at our local farmer's market. Stephan was a long time customer and over the years I became familiar with his work from seeing it around town at various galleries and milieux. I approached him with the idea of making a short film about the construction of his Light Sculptures for use on his as yet nonexistent website in exchange for a work of art. After some thought and discussion, Stephan decided that he wanted a bigger picture and seized this as an opportunity to tell his life story as an artist. Personally, what I like best about this film begins at around the 12 minute mark, where the film begins delving into Stephan's process in creating his art.
