Cricco Castelli - From Russia With Phunk

Cricco Castelli's final album, Streetlife, released in 2001 on Hiptonic fits right in with the sample based Filter House that was prominent during the release. However, unlike many of his contemporaries, Castelli took inspiration from the Latin Jazz scene over the Disco scene, but it didn't hinder his tracks from being just as great if not better.

The opening track, 'From Russia With Phunk', is an example of this. A classic House beat matched with blasting horn fanfares and filtered chords all made more dynamic by the occasional high pass filtering.
