Facebook has ‘become a monster’ and faces serious problems now
Facebook and other tech giants have “become monsters” with the capacity to influence society and now face serious danger, according to Sky News contributor Catherine McGregor.
Facebook is now facing an antitrust lawsuit from 48 US states and another suit filed by the Federal Trade Commission, seeking a permanent injunction in the federal court which could see the tech giant divest its assets.
Ms McGregor said antitrust legislation in the US was unlike anything in Australia and is like the anti-racketeering legislation used against organized crime.
“It really has teeth. They’re facing a serious problem here” she said.
“I think they’re out of control, they’ve become a law unto themselves.
“The preposterous arrogance of their founders just is breathtaking.”
