South Lake Ice Off for BIG Holdover Trout

Fished South Lake in Bishop, CA after ice off for big holdover trout. Fished the lake hard for 16 hours over the course of the of two days and it finally paid off. Surface water temp was 38F and I focused my efforts near shore fishing about 12-15’ of water. Fish were caught on a 8wt St. Croix Mojo Bass rod and a Lamson Liquid 8wt reel with Rio Fathom type 3 full sink line and a green/gold size 6 Dungeon fly. #flyfishing #kayakfishing #troutfishing #easternsierra #flyfishingtrout
