Dan Reeves and a rejuvenated Phil Simms led the Giants to an 11-5 regular season record. Reeves became the first Giants head coach to lead his team to the playoffs in his initial campaign since Allie Sherman in 1963. Reeves was selected as NFL Coach of the Year by several organizations, including the Associated Press. This was the final season for Phil Simms and Lawrence Taylor, and first season for Michael Strahan.
