Save fuel and quiet your cab with Jacobs Cylinder Deactivation and Active Decompression Technology

Eliminating cab shake during diesel engine shut-downs and restarts is impressive. Improving fuel economy while cutting emissions even more so. CCJ Senior Reporter Tom Quimby watched Jacobs Vehicle Systems do all three at the Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in Thompson, Conn. in an International LT625 equipped with Jacobs Vehicle Systems' new Active Decompression Technology (ADT) and Cylinder Deactivation (CDA). ADT not only helps drivers sleep during engine shutdowns and restarts while idling, it also helps pave the way for fuel-saving stop-start technology while the truck's on the road. Fuel economy gets even better with CDA which can reduce fuel use by up to 25% while slashing NOx 77% and carbon dioxide by 13% in low-load conditions.
