What is Gundam Wing? After Colony [Gundam Timelines]

In 1995, Gundam took a turn to melodrama and teens-with-attitude in an attempt to modernize and broaden the Gundam audience . Five years later, it would hit American televisions, and I watched it. I was in elementary school. Things were never the same after that. Does Gundam Wing hold up? Is it worth watching?
