Joel Embiid, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar among NBA stars helping to build homes in South Africa | ESPN

On August 2nd, 2018 the NBA participated in a large-scale service day working with Habitat for Humanity to build ten homes for families in Lawley, a township surrounding the city of Johannesburg. The day long project engaged all players, coaches, guests and participants volunteering side by side with the families that will benefit from the donation. At the completion of this project, the NBA will have created 87 places, learn, and play in seven countries in Africa. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Joel Embiid and JaVale McGee are among the NBA stars lending a helping hand to the NBA Habitat for Humanity initiative.
