Acer Triton 300 vs Helios 300 (2020 Models) | 10th Gen Intel, 240Hz Gaming Laptops

Hands-on with Acer's new Triton 300 and Helios 300 gaming laptops, revamped for 2020 with improved specs, including Intel's 10th Gen Core H-Series chipsets. Full reviews are incoming but here's a look at those features and how the Triton 300 2020 edition compares to the new Helios 300. So far they're looking like great value considering the smarts, if you're not fussed about a built-in 4K display and so on.

One of the biggest updates is a boost to gaming performance, with that fresh Intel platform - the notebooks I played with had the Core i7-10750H stuffed inside. You can get up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, while these versions had 16GB. As for the GPU, you've got a choice of Nvidia GTX 1660Ti/RTX 2060/RTX 2070 Max Q to power the visuals with both the Helios and Triton.

These Acer gaming laptops also deliver a 144Hz or 240Hz refresh rate, depending on your budget. The Full HD display is sharp and produces accurate colours on both models, although the Triton 300 offers complete sRGB coverage.

As far as design and ports go, the Helios 300 is very similar to its counterpart. However, you do get a 17-inch option as well as the 15-inch version.
