Far-Right Leader Marine Le Pen Fights Back After Being Barred from French Presidency

Marine Le Pen remained defiant as she rallied thousands of supporters in Paris, vowing to “continue to fight” on Sunday.

The former front-runner for the 2027 election was banned from running for office for five years, after she and 23 party members from the National Rally (RN) Party were convicted of embezzlement of public funds.

The rally near Napoleon's tomb at Place Vauban drew parallels to global populist movements abroad.

The verdict has divided the country, with RN supporters calling the ban politically motivated.

But some critics believe the ruling was fair and the politician should accept the consequences of her actions.
