Are you watering YOUR lawn Correctly? What's going on guys Blake Hawthorn it's HIS turf. Today we're going to talk about whether or not you are watering YOUR lawn Correctly. There is going to be the three different styles in which people water lawns, and I'm sure that you're going to fall into one of these three categories. The first one is the people that are watering on a daily basis for a lot of times this is our customers that really care about the lawn and they're out there on a daily basis working in it. And they're also running their irrigation daily, or it's going to be the customers that are on the lake that are pumping out of the lake and really the water bill isn't an issue because you know it's coming out of the lake, and they just have it running every single day. One great thing about watering on a daily basis is for annual flower, so if you have a lot of annual flowers, you're probably going to want to have a system, or a zone that is going to be watering these things on a daily basis, just to keep them from drying out in the summer heat, although it does green your lawn up by watering it daily for smaller increments of time, it does not help establish a deep root system so if you're watering for shorter increments of time, more often, you're going to have shallower roots and your lawn, whereas if you water on a longer duration of time and spread it out, fewer days of the week. My goal is building endurance in my lawn, and encouraging deeper root growth. So those roots are having to go deeper, and allowing them to really get established. The next style of watering is going to be the person that wants to water on it every other day basis or like three times a week, I myself water a Monday, Wednesday, Friday rotation, I set my system up for 30 minutes per zone on the lawn itself. And so, what I'm doing is I'm trying to encourage that deeper root growth by soaking it in for a longer period of time, fewer days a week. The other way in which you can do that which is the last style that you can do on your lawn, and that is by watering one to two times a week for anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour per zone. This is great for the people that don't have a sprinkler system, and they have a setup sprinkler onto a faucet with a water hose and they're watering sections of it coming out moving it, so on and so forth. It's a great way to establish a deeper root growth and then also what this allows is in between rains for you to be able to water, but then also for your lawn to pop back at a time of drought.
