2014 NEA Jazz Masters Awards Ceremony & Concert, Part 1 of 3

On January 13, 2014, the National Endowment for the Arts, in collaboration with Jazz at Lincoln Center, celebrated the 2014 NEA Jazz Masters---Jamey Aebersold, Anthony Braxton, Richard Davis, and Keith Jarrett.

The tribute concert was hosted by Wynton Marsalis, 2011 NEA Jazz Master and Jazz at Lincoln Center’s managing and artistic director, and Soledad O'Brien.

This segment's speakers included hosts Wynton Marsalis and Soledad O'Brien; NEA Senior Deputy Joan Shigekawa; Music and Opera director Wayne Brown; NEA Jazz Master Dave Liebman; and 2014 honoree Jamie Aebersold. Performances included renditions of Cedar Walton's "Bolivia," Charlie Parker's "Ornithology," and Antonio Carlos Jobim's "Wave."
