Chlorine bleach is a handy, inexpensive disinfectant that can be used to destroy germs, including viruses and bacteria, during flu season and year-round. But how does bleach do it? Recently, a team of University of Michigan researchers uncovered a mechanism by which bleach kills bacteria. The Secret Life of Bleach is revealed in this fun, retro-style video.
