Tower Hill stands within close proximity to the Tower of London. No other English monarch had sanctioned so many executions in one reign than Henry VIII. It was here that over 125 individuals over a series of monarchy’s, including the Duke of Buckingham, Bishop John Fisher, Sir Thomas More and Thomas Cromwell were executed in public during the reign of Henry VIII. These men are among the few whose names are listed on commemorative plaques at this site.
