What is a Mandala?
To simplify the definition, a mandala is a number of circles organized around the same center.

What is a Mandala grid?
A Mandala grid is the base structure we trace to draw a Mandala. This structure is composed from circles and lines and it helps the artist achieve symmetry easily and makes drawing more fun. Using the Mandala grid is actually a matter of connecting dots and lines together.

How to draw a Mandala grid and what are the materials needed?
To draw a Mandala grid you need a protractor, a compass, a ruler and a pencil.
The steps are simple and easy. It evolves around tracing circles and lines. But how you might wonder? and what are the measures?
Well, if you have a certain design in mind that you can trace the circles radius based on the design you have in mind, if not, then, you trace random circles, and while drawing your mandala, if you feel like you need an additional circle somewhere you can add it, and if you feel that there is traced circle you didn't need you simply skip it.
Concerning the grid lines. The distance between the grid lines must be equal. And since the circle has 360 degrees, you must divide them into equal parts. Usually, you can trace the lines separated by 10 degrees, or 20, or 15, or 30, or 45. These are the most common and easy measures to take for a beginner.
The more the angle between lines is smaller, the tighter are your mandala lines and the more patterns you have to draw.
