If you believe that ravens/ birds/ whatever animal should not be kept as pets, please refrain from commenting. You're entitled to your opinion, I'm entitled to mine. We will disagree, and I'm not going waste my time arguing with you.

Sam Ravenburd is a hybrid raven, part Common Raven, part White-Necked Raven. He was bred in captivity and is legal in the pet industry in the US. As such, he is not a wild bird, never was a wild bird and absolutely must NEVER be released.
He is a very cool pet, but a very demanding pet.

A couple of years ago, I didn't latch the door to Sam's big cage and he demolished my motel room. Today, while I was gone for an hour, he pulled a Mission Impossible, escaped and had himself a VERY good time.

I recently moved and Sam is temporarily in his old, small cage until I can get the permit required for him to live in his big outside cage. Ravens (and most birds, actually) HATE change. Change is SCARY. Stress turns into 'acting out'.

I came home from work, picked up the dogs and went to the pet store and grocery store. I was gone about an hour. I came home to this.

*facepalm*

"Parrot proof" =/= "raven proof"

I figured out that the water he soaked the bread sticks in was from the cat/dog water bowl in the kitchen.
