Historic Ghost Town in California - Bodie State Historic Park

Did you know that there is a historic ghost town in California? Bodie State Historic Park is located in Bridgepoint, California but it's well off the beaten path and Bodie is considered it's own little town. Although now considered a ghost town as no residents live there, with the exception of the park rangers. Once exiting the main highway, the path to this historic ghost town is off the main highway, but you will need to drive a few easy miles down a dirt road. Bodie State Historic Park was once a booming gold mining town with over 200 buildings. Currently there are a few buildings standing but many were burned down in a fire. The buildings in this historic ghost town that still stand have been preserved and are well kept by the park rangers. You can even see actual artifacts that were left behind inside the buildings when the town was vacated. The park rangers at historic are passionate about the history of this town and more than willing to answer all questions.
