Easy: Remove Stuck & Rusted Rear Wheel Hub & Bearing Assembly - Toyota Sienna
After tirelessly beating up a hub assembly, trying to remove it from the rear of a 2006 Toyota Sienna (FWD), I had an idea that helped me easily remove it without losing any more sweat.
I used two bolts (less than five inches - threaded to the head), two nuts, and a few washers. After knocking out the studs, I put the bolts through two holes on the hub (washers were used to keep them from pulling all the way through). I threaded a nut up the other side, held it with an open-face wrench, and turned the bolts against the back-plate - alternating between the two, to keep the assembly straight on its way out. After only a few rotations, the rust was broken. The assembly came out. I'll never have to worry about using brute-force to remove these hubs again. This is a cheap and easy trick to keep in your mental toolbox.
