Max "Walking"

Breaks the heart a little. But when you think of what could have happened ...

Maxine snuck out of our yard in the morning, and was hit by a van while we were looking for her. The van struck her in the head and then kept driving. She immediately tried to get up and move around but luckily there were some witnesses to the hit and run that stopped and helped. They took Max to an emergency vet clinic where they treated her for a severe concussion (including brain swelling).

When we arrived at the Vet's we were informed that she had no broken bones but did suffer some nerve damage to her right leg. As of right now she can't feel or operate that limb. She is in mostly good spirits and considering this all happened a week ago today is already making great progress. She is hopping along quite well already.

She may still lose her right leg and there is still no way to tell if her head trauma is fully healed.
