Antonis Tsapatakis, 29 years old, born in Chania, Crete, Greece. A successful Paralympic champion, who, despite the fact that a motorcycle accident left him paralyzed in December 2006, never stopped chasing his dreams.
In 2008 he started swimming again, being a water polo player and swimmer from the age of five.
In 2009 he got his first silver medal in the 100m breaststroke in the Εuropean Swimming Championship, experiencing this way an upturn in the sport of swimming.
In 2012 he was crowned the fourth Paralympic champion in London Paralympics in the 100m breaststroke.
In 2013 he won two bronze medals at the world championship held in Canada in the 100m breaststroke and in the 200m individual medley.
In 2015 he won the silver medal in the 100m breaststroke at the World Championship held in Glasgow where he set a new National and European personal record in this swimming style.
In 2016 he participated in Rio 2016 Paralympics, where he was placed in the forth position.
Now he has started the preparation for the next Paralympics, which will be held in Tokyo in 2020. His goal is the gold medal in the Paralympics.
