Disruption and innovation are words that are quite casually thrown around. But very few people understand it and fewer embody it through their life’s work. Dr. Sundarrajan, the former director of NIT Trichy has been a lifelong “disrupter”. At every stage in his very illustrious career, be it as a scientist in the DRDO or as a strategic consultant for Higher Education, Defence, and Aerospace, he has attempted to shatter existing conceptions and break through.

In his maiden TEDx talk at NITW, he quite prophetically talks about disruption in a field that has long sought it, and given the current situation, has finally received it: Education.
Dr.Srinivasan Sundarrajan is a reputed Aerospace and Missile Scientist who has worked through all the phases of missile design, production and development of prestigious missile systems like the Brahmos, Agni, Prithvi, Akash, Nag and Thrishul of the Defence Research and Development Organisation. An AICTE Distinguished Professor, Dr.Sundarrajan has made a significant contribution to curriculum development, integrating emerging areas of technology. He serves as a member of the boards of ISRO, DAE, and CSIR. He has as edited two engineering handbooks and published more than eighty technical papers.

He joined as Director of NIT Trichy and has played a vital role in transforming the institute. Currently, Dr. Sundarrajan works as a Higher Education & Defence Aerospace consultant and provides strategic consultancy to industries in the areas of defense, aerospace and hi-tech products.
