Brand New Navien NPE-240A Heat Exchanger Leaking Gas - They Want Entire Unit Replaced

On Friday May 21st I discovered that my Navien was leaking dangerous gases from the burner gasket. I recorded the entire event on my iPhone and called Navien as a former, delisted NSS technician. For almost 10 years as a Navien Service Specialist, trained by Navien, I endorsed, installed, serviced, repaired and maintained Navien systems to the highest standards. Recently, I received a call that my company was not going to be listed as a NSS contractor because I am advising clients “to sue Navien for product liability”

Navien emailed after reviewing all the pictures that the unit must be replaced. However, the labor and material expense to make the warranty exchange is due to the owner of the unit. Why? There is a manufacturing defect.
