Vice-Presidente científico do Foro Latino-Americano de Ciências Ambientais / Cátedra da UNESCO/Unitwin, Presidente da Sessão Brasileira da International Association for Geoethics. Co-líder para a América Latina do Projeto internacional Geology and Society do IGCP UNESCO e da União Internacional de Ciências Geológicas, professor visitante da Universidade de Lanús (Argentina). Suas pesquisas em geoarqueologia foram consideradas recentemente como a solução do mistério de Machu Picchu e tiveram grande repercussão internacional. No TEDxUnisinos 2020 compartilhou como as civilizações antigas construíram as noções de sociedade nos tempos passados.

His discoveries in geo archaeology were recently considered the solution to the Machu Picchu mystery and repercuted internationally. At TEDxUnisinos 2020, he shared how ancient civilizations built the notions of society in the past times.
