NATURAL INK — Making Botanical Inks with Fruits, Flowers, and Moss

And the homemade-art-supply journey continues (see playlist here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLGY4GQH2VA&list=PLKLRq99yNEUif6BT-etbXax0NKf5Aw0Ko) ! These botanical inks were made from some foraged and store-bought materials including (**links below**):

- Bark (from various trees)
- Pine cones
- Moss
- Avocado pits
- Butterfly pea flowers
- Rhubarb tea

Washing soda (A.K.A. potash or soda ash) was used to draw out colors, along with aluminum sulphate (or alum). Gum arabic was used to bind the inks onto a drawing surface to prevent bleeding, and clove oil was used as a preservative.
