What if fast recharge was possible for humans? | Francesco Cicconetti | TEDxLUISS
“My name is Francesco, I am a guy who is different as everyone else. Among other things I like to read books and I'm trying to write one. I am also experiencing a gender transition that makes me aesthetically the man I always knew I was; but I'm still trying to figure out how I can become a man I respect.”
Born in 1996 in Rimini, after his studies at the Liceo Linguistico, he graduated in languages at the University of Urbino. Few years ago, he began the gender transition process that allowed him to feel more confident with himself.
Francesco was for so long an abstract entity albeit a strong one inside, but outside in the r e a l world, he did not exist for anyone.
“For many transgender people the name is a shield. I was trying to defend and affirm myself by creating as many masculine documents as I could.”
An example of rebirth and perseverance, together with great communication skills, he constantly raises awareness on diversity, acceptance, and discrimination, and that is what he did on the stage of TEDxLuiss Recharge. Born in 1998 in Rimini, after his studies at the Liceo Linguistico, he then graduated in languages at the University of Urbino.
Few years ago, he began the gender transition process that allowed him to feel more confident with himself.
When we asked Francesco about his divulgative job, he said “I have always told my story on social media without pretense. Over the years this activity of mine has become more and more important to others and to me, until a sort of mission was created in me: to talk about transition as a common life path, similar to many others.
A great ability to communicate, without filters, with which he raises awareness of the issue through social media and also through his podcast on Spotify in which he reads his poems.
An example of rebirth, recharge and perseverance, together with great communication skills that lead him to reach 73.1K followers on Instagram. He constantly raises awareness of diversity, acceptance, and discrimination, which are often too present in our society and are silently and unconsciously accepted. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
