सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी पर संसद की स्थायी समिति अमेरिकी अखबार वॉल स्ट्रीट जर्नल की उस रिपोर्ट पर विचार करेगी जिसमें ये कहा गया है कि फेसबुक ने नाराजगी के डर से भाजपा नेता की एंटी-मुस्लिम पोस्ट पर कार्रवाई नहीं की.
रिपोर्ट में यह बताया गया है कि भारत में फेसबुक की एक शीर्ष अधिकारी ने भाजपा के एक नेता और अन्य ‘हिंदू राष्ट्रवादी लोगों और समूहों’ की नफरत भरी पोस्ट को लेकर उन पर फेसबुक के हेट स्पीच नियम लगाए जाने का विरोध किया था. इस मुद्दे पर द वायर की सीनियर एडिटर आरफ़ा ख़ानम शेरवानी ने वरिष्ठ पत्रकार प्रंजॉय गुहा ठाकुरता से चर्चा की.
