3DS MAX to HOUDINI - Transition - Modifier Stack vs. Network Editor (Part 1 of 2)

In this 2 part tutorial we begin our transition into Houdini as a 3ds Max user. If you are a Max user and don't know where to start with Houdini, then this is for you.

In Part 1 we dip our toes into Houdini by comparing the user interfaces. You could spend hours just talking about Houdini's buttons, but we won't get bogged down in the nitty gritty. We'll learn what we need to know as we go along.

First up we compare Max's scene explorer and Houdini's tree view.

Then we uncover the mystery of Houdini's Geometry Node and learn that it is simply an object container like a group in Max.

In part 2 we dive into the Modifier Stack and Network Editor and find out what makes them tick, covering how they are alike and how they differ.
