Weezer Bassist's Wife Shooting: How Cops Acted 'Improperly'

The Los Angeles Board of Police Commissioners ruled that officers acted improperly in the April 2025 shooting of Jillian Lauren, wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner. Authorities shot Jillian following a hit-and-run car crash near her LA home, after which she confronted police with a handgun. She was not involved directly in the crash, and was granted a mental health diversion for firing at law enforcement.
