I Am The Drums | Terri Lyne Carrington | TEDxYouth@BeaconStreet

Who said girls can't play the drums? Veteran drummer Terri Lyne Carrington, accompanied by four emerging musicians, highlights her life and performs a musical improvisation in conjunction with an original poem, “I Am the Drums," which alludes to the drums as a metaphor for a more balanced, more harmonious way of living. She asks us to consider the possibility of an inner drummer in everyone.

Mao Sone - trumpet, Andrew Marzotto - guitar, Mats Sandahl - bass, Negah Santos - percussion
Terri Lyne Carrington is a 3-time Grammy Award winning jazz drummer and producer.
