RIP Ms Vesta Williams. A brilliant set of pipes that deserved much more success than she was afforded.

NOT from any vampire movie, though lyrically the parallel themes are there, this was the longtime b-vox extraordinaire's debut single for A&M that managed to end up a UK top 15 single - and with good reason. Written by veteran r&b man Dave Crawford, who gave Candi Staton her disco makeover (and Dee Dee Warwick her second best single), this is seemless and perfect R&B/Pop of the old skool variety - and a great cover for one of the young belters of today.

US R&B Charts No 9 (which is where the Top 10 status I knew it acquired somewhere came from)
