How Does Stereolithography (SLA) 3D Printing Work?

See what happens inside a stereolithography (SLA) 3D printing machine as it builds parts. It solidifies one layer at time by curing the liquid thermoset resin with ultraviolet laser.

SLA can support complex geometries with ultrafine features. The technology produces high-quality surface finishes and is often used for rapid prototyping of injection molding designs.

Common applications include housings for consumer products, lenses and light pipes, and microfluidic devices.

Our SLA process uses Vupers, ProJets, and iPros manufactured by 3D Systems.
