How Jenkins and Github Helps Network Engineers

In this Phase 2 of my Jenkins Dashboard/ Github lab I connected GitHub, Jenkins, Linux, and Python to build a simple network monitoring automation workflow. Initially I struggled to understand why Jenkins is important for network engineers. After completing the project, it became clear that Jenkins isn’t just about running scripts. It’s about automating repetitive operational tasks.

In production environments, similar workflows can be used to:
• Monitor network devices
• Verify connectivity
• Backup configurations
• Generate compliance reports
• Alert engineers to outages

This project successfully pulled code from GitHub, executed a Python monitoring script through Jenkins, and returned live network status results.
Skills practiced:
• Jenkins
• GitHub
• Python
• Linux
• Network Monitoring
• Automation Fundamentals
