Caregivers say NY's CDPAP program is failing them

New York’s CDPAP caregiver program is in crisis, with families and workers reporting weeks without pay following a rocky state transition. The Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program allows families to hire their own caregivers—but a recent move to consolidate administrative oversight under Public Partnerships LLC has left many in financial limbo. Fox 5’s Richard Giacovas spoke with caregivers across the state who describe the rollout as disorganized and devastating, with some saying they’ve received pay stubs for “zero dollars” and made dozens of unanswered calls to the company. Many fear eviction, repossession, and a loss of vital care services for their loved ones.
