If you have not yet chosen your system, and you are still in the planning phase, this video will help you organise your modules and lessons for when you are ready to drip content. The drip feature in Thinkific is a paid feature. If you do not have this paid feature and are not ready to sign up, you can manually release content by updating it from Draft to Published. Try Thinkific here: https://try.thinkific.com/ymt8pv1wz5oz (note this is an affiliate link but you will not be charged anything, it's free a plan)

There are two methods to drip content:

1. The course creator controlled method (set by dates)
2. The student behaviour controlled method (when students complete a lesson, module or quiz)

---Course Creator Controlled Method---

The drip feature in Thinkific is set per course. You will find the drip tab within each course.

The first step is to identify what will trigger the drip schedule to commence.

There are 3 options in Thinkific:

1. The student's enrollment date (the date they register, pay and enrol)
2. The student's course start date (when they first sign in and start the course)
3. From a specific date (if you have live courses that commence on a specific date)

The next step is to enter in the number of days the lesson is available after the enrollment or course start date (depending on what you chose in step 1).

Note: this is only available in days. So every week will be 7 days and every month will be 30 days.

The specific date will request you to enter the actual date. You will need to set this each time you deliver a new course. If the date has elapsed, all content is available. This is useful for your beta testing.

---Student Behaviour Controlled Method---

This does not sit within the drip feature but sits within each lesson as prerequisites.

This means that a student cannot move to the next module until they have completed all prerequisites within the module. Students will be able to move between the lessons within a module with freedom, but cannot continue to the next module.

You can change the wording to alert a student that they need to complete the prerequisites, however, this is global to your entire account not just one course.

When you test this, note that you will be able to move through the course freely for testing purposes. If you want to see exactly what a student sees, create a student account with a different email address to your course admin user.

You can also restrict students to not continue unless they pass a quiz. With a passing grade, a student can progress to the next lesson without completing the quiz but cannot complete the course until they pass. If you do not want them to progress, click prerequisites. Yes, you can use both.
