🇮🇳🚁 India Signs ₹5,083 Crore Defence Deal for Helicopters & Missiles

The Ministry of Defence has signed contracts worth ₹5,083 crore to strengthen India’s naval and coast guard capabilities.

🚁 ₹2,901 Crore – HAL Helicopters

A major contract was signed with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for:

6 Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) Mk-III

Maritime role configuration

Twin-engine, ship-compatible operations

Missions: coastal security, offshore protection, surveillance, environmental response

These helicopters will enhance the operational strength of the Indian Coast Guard.

🛡 ₹2,182 Crore – Surface-to-Air Missiles

India also signed a deal with JSC Rosoboronexport for:

Surface-to-Air Vertical Launch Shtil missile systems

Upgrades for frontline Indian Navy warships

All-weather air defense capability against aircraft and missile threats

📅 Announced March 3, 2026, the agreement reflects India’s dual approach:

Boosting indigenous defense manufacturing

Continuing strategic defense cooperation with Russia
