Sheriff Villanueva & City of Maywood to Unveil the Grand Opening of LASD’s Maywood Substation

On Tuesday, June 29, 2021, Sheriff Alex Villanueva and representatives from the City of Maywood including Mayor Ricardo Lara and Mayor Pro Tem Heber Marquez; and representatives from the City of Cudahy including Mayor Jose Gonzalez, participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony of the Maywood/Cudahy Sheriff’s Substation, located at 4317 Slauson Avenue, in the city of Maywood.

The opening of the substation will allow for deputies assigned to patrol the cities of Maywood and Cudahy to be able to respond to calls in the city in a faster manner and provide more efficient service for the residents in the surrounding areas. The Maywood/Cudahy Sheriff’s Substation will operate out of East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station.

“Now that we have our substation right here within our community, members of the public can come file reports here, talk to deputies and use this a place for community gatherings. It brings everyone together and the source is right there”, said Sheriff Alex Villanueva.
