Fixing an athlete is like tuning a high performance car #athleticism #athletetraining #backpain

This was a great conversation with Chris Duffin because we were able to get into the real layers behind back pain, strength training, performance, and long-term durability.

Back injuries are not simple. They are not random. And they are not solved by throwing a generic “non-specific back pain” label on someone and sending them down the same tired path of medication, pain management, therapy, surgery, and “go do whatever you want.”

Every back injury is specific. Every athlete has different demands. Everybody has different weak points, strong points, and adaptation timelines. That is why assessment matters. You cannot tune a high-performance machine by guessing, and you cannot rebuild a human by guessing either.

Whether we are talking about an elite athlete, a lifter who pushed too hard too soon, or someone just trying to get through life without pain, the process has to start with understanding the person, the injury mechanism, and the demands placed on the body.

Big thank you to Chris Duffin for having me on his YouTube channel. Go check out the full conversation on Chris Duffin’s YouTube channel, @MadScientistDuffin.
