Discharge Capacity testing Eneloop Pro Ni-MH battery
Discharge Capacity testing a 'Panasonic Eneloop Pro Ni-MH' battery (BK-3HCCE/4BT) via LiitoKala Lii-500's NOR TEST mode of operation.

This is a brandnew battery from a 4-cell pack. Production Date printed on the packaging shows 12-2017 or 17-12 on the battery. With such info, I would presume that this was manufactured in December of 2017.

I would like to know what capacity will I get from this battery and then compare the result with info from its datasheet. Ambient temperature during testing was ~ 33°C.

NOR TEST is used to measure Discharge Capacity of a cell / battery. Choosing 'NOR TEST CURRENT 1000mA' will use ~1000mA charging current and ~500mA discharge current.

During NOR TESTing, the battery will go thru the following phases (steps):
1) Initial charging phase
This is to ensure that the battery is fully-charged prior to discharging.
↓
2) Discharge phase
Will discharge battery from its full-charge voltage down to the cut-off voltage of Lii-500 for Ni-MH battery (~0.93V). At the end of this phase, Lii-500 will show on screen a blinking 'End' word and the final record of Discharge Capacity (mAh) and Discharge Time (hr : min)
↓
3) Late charging phase
Re-charges the battery from the cut-off voltage up to ~ 1.50Volts. This ends when the 'End' word stops blinking.

Quoting the Massachusetts Institute of Technology EV Team:
"Capacity or Nominal Capacity (Ah for a specific C-rate)
→ The coulometric capacity, the total Amp-hours available when the battery is discharged at a certain discharge current (specified as a C-rate) from 100 percent state-of-charge to the cut-off voltage.

→ Capacity is calculated by multiplying the discharge current (in Amps) by the discharge time (in hours) and decreases with increasing C-rate."
